Why El Arish?

The venue of El Arish has been chosen in order to draw international attention to an area of Egypt, which, while representing a high touristic, cultural and commercial potential, has suffered for years due to its vicinity to Ghaza, a hotspot in the Middle Eastern Conflict. The festival is therefore also designed to provide a strong impulse to the cultural and economic development of this area in Egypt, which has been disadvantaged due to the political developments in its geographical surrounding. At the same time Al Arish provides an excellent infrastructure for the planned events and for the accommodation of participants.
